Lagos Gives NUPENG Deadline To Comply With Lekki E-call Up System

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has directed members of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to fully comply with the state’s Lekki e-call up system by November 10, warning that defaulters will face strict enforcement measures.
Osiyemi issued the directive during a crucial meeting held at the Ministry of Transportation’s conference room in Alausa, Ikeja, where he expressed concern over persistent violations of the e-call up procedures by some tanker operators.
He condemned the operators’ disregard for the online booking system, noting that such breaches have encouraged cash transactions and indiscriminate truck parking along the Lekki–Epe corridor, resulting in traffic congestion and inefficiencies in the state’s traffic management efforts.

The commissioner reiterated that the e-call up system mandates all trucks to undergo validation and obtain clearance before proceeding to designated parks, stressing that the process is simple and must be strictly followed.
He cautioned that the government would begin enforcement actions against violators if compliance is not achieved by the November 10 deadline.
In response, NUPENG representatives pledged to intensify sensitisation efforts among their members and ensure immediate adherence to the guidelines. They also promised to resolve other operational concerns raised by the ministry.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Transportation and managers of the e-call up system were in attendance at the meeting.
