Kaduna Commissioner To El-Rufai: Only God Decides 2027, Not You
Sadiq Mamman Lagos, Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has stated that former Governor Nasir El-Rufai cannot control the course of events in 2027 and that only God will determine the results of the elections.
In a media interview, Mamman Lagos also denounced El-Rufai’s criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, and cautioned the former governor against getting involved in Kaduna politics.
According to news sources, Mamman Lagos stressed that God, not people who think they have authority over election results, is the rightful owner of political power.
He declared, “God will decide who wins the 2027 presidential and gubernatorial elections.”
The 255 council members of Kaduna have also endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for a second term in 2027.
“Governor Uba Sani Prioritized Development Over Distraction.”
In a jab at El-Rufai, Mamman Lagos claimed that Governor Uba Sani has never meddled in previous governments and has stayed committed to governance.
“We must correct the record by reminding everyone who is interested in hearing that our good and friendly Governor never interfered with the operation of the state during the previous administration,” he stated.
In order to improve people’s lives, he focused on introducing and passing legislation with the help of his constituents and other senators. We don’t see why he should be sidetracked right now by someone who believes he has the exclusive right to make or break people.
The commissioner also enumerated a number of policy reversals implemented by Governor Uba Sani in an effort to address the “anti-masses policies” that El-Rufai had instituted.
“Go around and see for yourselves how Governor Uba Sani has succeeded in reversing virtually all the unpopular and various anti-masses policies of his predecessor who rode to power on the goodwill of the people and sacrifices made by grassroots politicians like Uba Sani,” said Mamman Lagos.
Even the opposition has surpassed Governor Sani’s expectations, seeing in him the kind of leader who is needed to bring the people together and bring back the state’s former grandeur. In order to achieve success, he has essentially impacted every facet of governance.
“Reforms Focused on People Under Uba Sani”
Mamman Lagos listed the accomplishments of the current administration, stating that Governor Uba Sani has rehabilitated ousted traditional rulers, overturned the excessive tuition fees imposed by the previous administration, and returned confiscated or demolished assets to their rightful owners.
“We would like to take this opportunity to caution this individual and his fellow travelers to refrain from making provocative and baseless threats, as if he holds the secret to political success in the upcoming election,” he said.
“The electorate will choose their tent-pitch partner, and they can trust Governor Uba Sani’s empathy and dedication to the people.”
Councilors in Kaduna Support Tinubu and Uba Sani for 2027
In the meantime, the 255 councilors of Kaduna have announced that Sir Kashim Ibrahim House and Aso Rock will not have any openings in 2027.
Muhammad Sani Badiko, speaking on behalf of the councilors, connected the significant infrastructure improvements made by his administration to their support of Uba Sani.
“We give the governor good marks for constructive intervention programs that promote growth and innovation in the areas of rural development, economic recovery, education, and healthcare.
“In 2027, we will rally the populace to support the governor’s reelection. We urge all political players to hold off and wait until after 2031,” Badiko said.
