The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has refuted rumors that she has quit her contentious role.
Meranda’s denial follows rumors that she had resigned as Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly due to the turmoil that has engulfed the assembly since her predecessor, Mudashiru Obasa, was impeached.
Additionally, Meranda apparently resigned from her position, according to a circular she made on Monday, February 17.
The notification has become popular on the internet even though investigations reveal that neither Meranda nor anybody else signed the circular.
On Wednesday, February 19, Segun Ajiboye, the Lagos Speaker’s chief press secretary, responded to the allegations by stating that Meranda remains the Speaker of the House.
“I am in the office,” Ajiboye declared. In the office is the speaker. Where that is coming from is beyond me.
