NULGE President General Urges Unity as New Osun SAC Members Are Inaugurated

The President General of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Aliyu Haruna Kankara has called on newly elected members of the Osun State Administrative Council (SAC) to unite and work collectively for the advancement of the union.
Comrade Kankara made the appeal during the official swearing-in ceremony of the new State Administrative Council member who were elected on March 4, 2025 at the Western Sun Hotel, Ede.

The President General, who was represented by Comrade Hakeem Bello, the National Vice President (Southwest), emphasized that every NULGE member has a vital role to play in the union’s growth and development.

In his inaugural address, the new Osun State NULGE President, Comrade Dr. Nathaniel Kehinde Ogungbangbe, pledged to adopt an open-door policy and ensure inclusive leadership.

“The election is over. It’s time for us to come together and work for the upliftment of our great union,” Ogungbangbe stated, expressing gratitude to SAC members, branch chairpersons, and executives for their unwavering support.

Dr. Ogungbangbe holds a unique place in NULGE’s history. He is currently the only medical doctor serving as a state president of the union in Nigeria. He is also the first Osun State NULGE president to win the state election twice and the first primary healthcare professional to attain such a position in the state.

His journey to leadership began in 2016 when he first contested for the presidency but lost to Comrade Engineer Adeyeye. He returned in 2021 and won unopposed, securing his second term in the 2025 elections.

The inauguration also witnessed the presence of top union officials, including Comrade Ajewole Ayodele Emmanuel, Deputy Secretary General of NULGE, and Comrade Fredrick Olugbenga Akinrinlola, State President of NULGE, Ondo State.
