The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed as false and mischievous a report circulating online that the party has suspended all its meetings and activities due to an alleged national leadership crisis.

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jacob Ayodeji Areola, the party described the publication as the handiwork of “elements of the opposition,” particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC), which it accused of attempting to mislead the public and destabilize the ruling party in the state.

According to Areola, the publication deceitfully credited to him is “a fabrication from the desperate imagination of the jittery and rejected opposition in Osun State,” adding that it was a baseless effort to sow confusion among the people.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Osun State PDP has not suspended any of its political or organizational activities at any level. Our structures remain intact, vibrant, and fully committed to supporting the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke,” the statement read.

The PDP spokesperson reaffirmed the party’s unity and stability under Governor Ademola Adeleke, who he described as providing “dynamic leadership and good governance” to the people of the state. He said the party is already focused on ensuring Adeleke’s reelection in August 2026.

Areola urged party members and the public to disregard what he called “the fake report in its entirety,” stressing that it was a reflection of the opposition’s frustration and desperation to remain politically relevant.

He further disclosed that the party’s legal and security teams have commenced investigations to identify the perpetrators of the false publication, assuring that those responsible would be prosecuted.

“The criminal impersonator behind this malicious act will be fished out and made to face the full weight of the law,” Areola stated.

Reiterating the party’s position, the PDP emphasized that it remains “strong, focused, and united”, adding that no internal or external distraction would derail its commitment to sustainable development in Osun State.

The false narrative remains a mere beer parlour dream of some political drunkards whose hallucinations can never come to pass,” the statement concluded.

The Osun PDP assured its members and supporters that all party activities across the state continue uninterrupted.
