According to the NCS, the revenue surge was driven by improved border surveillance, intensified anti-smuggling operations, and enhanced trade facilitation measures at the Seme border.
The command noted that sustained collaboration with sister security agencies and stricter enforcement of customs regulations also played a key role in boosting collections, while legitimate trade continued to flow smoothly.
Customs authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the momentum in 2026, stressing that the focus would remain on revenue growth, national security, and support for Nigeria’s economic development.
