Defence Minister Visits Operation FANSAN YAMMA Headquarters, Urges Troops to Sustain Resilience

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, on Friday, 14 November 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Theatre Command Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), shortly after observing the Juma’at prayer at the Headquarters Theatre Command Mosque.
Welcoming the minister, the Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Bello Idris, expressed profound appreciation for the visit, describing it as a strong affirmation of the Federal Government’s steadfast commitment to supporting ongoing military operations in the North West.
Addressing officers and soldiers, Dr. Matawalle lauded the troops for their courage, dedication, and sacrifices in combating criminal elements across the theatre.
He urged them to remain resilient, vigilant, and focused as efforts continue to restore enduring peace and stability in the region.
The Minister reiterated the Federal Government’s resolve to strengthen the mission by enhancing logistics, resources, and welfare support essential for sustaining operational gains.
He also commended the leadership of the Theatre Command for notable achievements and underscored the need to maintain robust synergy among all security agencies.
The visit featured a detailed briefing by the Theatre Commander on ongoing activities under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the presentation of souvenirs to the Minister, and an address to the troops in which Dr. Matawalle expressed profound appreciation for their professionalism and unwavering service to the nation.
