VC Dismisses ‘Education Is A scam’ Notion, Urges New Students To Stay Focused

Prof. Francis Gbore, the vice chancellor of Sam Maris University in Supare-Akoko, Ondo State, has cautioned new students not to trust those who claim that “school is a scam.”

According to Gbore, the goal of education is to know the truth in order to be free in a confusing world, not just to get certified.

Shortly after giving the matriculation oath to 270 recently accepted students, he addressed.

The VC gave the students the assurance that the knowledge they gained while on campus will change their lives and professions.

He advised them to make the most of the time by developing their knowledge and abilities.

“You have traveled from all over the nation to learn from each other and gain knowledge and skills that will improve our society,” he said.

“Perseverance is essential, but the path that brought you here has not been easy, and I do not guarantee that the one ahead will be either. By God Almighty’s grace, all of you will be successful.
In his matriculation lecture, Mr. Mazi Afam Osigwe, President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), advised the students to avoid immoral behavior and instead focus on developing skills that would prepare them for more difficult assignments.
Osigwe urged the students in his talk, “Venturing beyond the usual borders,” to be extraordinary by pursuing new avenues and grasping chances for both academic success and personal development.

Scholarships for the institution’s founding students were announced by Mr. Sam Ologunorisa, the institution’s founder.

He exhorted the recipients to take advantage of the chance to be open to lessons and arm themselves with pertinent abilities that are ingrained at the Entrepreneurship Center.
