The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has issued over 100,000 airport access cards in a move aimed at restoring order and improving traffic management around airport tollgates across the country. The decision follows recent chaos and gridlock at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport tollgate in Lagos, where confusion over access and payment procedures caused long queues and disruptions for passengers and airport workers.

According to FAAN officials, the access cards are designed to streamline entry for authorized airport users such as staff, service providers, and frequent operators. FAAN also emphasized that the measure is part of broader reforms to strengthen security and operational efficiency at Nigerian airports. The authority urged airport users to comply with the new access control system, assuring that additional steps are being taken to prevent a recurrence of the recent tollgate chaos.
