The agreement is expected to address key issues affecting public universities, including funding, staff welfare, infrastructure development, and mechanisms to prevent frequent industrial actions that have disrupted academic calendars in recent years.
Sources familiar with the talks said the new deal is part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen higher education and restore confidence among lecturers and students across the country.
Both parties are optimistic that the agreement will usher in a new era of cooperation, enhance teaching and research standards, and promote uninterrupted academic activities in Nigeria’s universities.
