In the recently finished Nigeria Customs Service promotion exercise, 95 officers and men from the Oyo/Osun Area Command were promoted to the next level and honored by Dr. Ben Oramalugo, Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service. The Command’s Operational Headquarters in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, hosted the ceremony on Monday. In a statement provided to reporters in Ibadan by Kayode Wey, the Command’s Public Relations Officer and Chief Superintendent of Customs, Oramalugo made this information public.

Officers and men of the Command, together with well-wishers, gathered to honor the newly promoted officers and soldiers at the decoration ceremony hosted by the Customs Area Controller.

Oramalugo urged the men and officers to maintain professionalism and honesty while congratulating them on their well-earned promotions. He praised their commitment and reliable work in a variety of roles, which he claimed had greatly aided the Command’s operational success.

According to Oramalugo, “the Command is proud of the hard work, perseverance, and excellence that have led each promoted officer to this milestone.” According to him, the promotion is evidence of the officers’ and men’s ongoing commitment to the Nigeria Customs Service’s core principles and their shared goal of securing the country’s security and prosperity. Oramalugo went on to say, “I asked all recently promoted officers and men to keep up the professionalism and ethics that have brought them here today.”

Oramalugo praised the officers from different departments and units in the Oyo/Osun Area Command, stating that receiving their new levels and being decorated was a major career accomplishment.

He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to ongoing capacity building and professional development for its officers, saying, “The ceremony serves as both a celebration of individual achievement and a reminder of the high standards the Nigeria Customs Service aspires to uphold.” Oramalugo further exhorted the recently honored officers to set an example for their peers, develop their intelligence and abilities, and favorably impact the expansion and development of the Nigeria Customs Service.
