President Bola Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s top security chiefs to immediately relocate to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, following a series of bomb attacks that struck three locations in the city.

The directive was confirmed in a statement issued Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, President Tinubu strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as a tragic assault on innocent citizens. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives, extended his condolences to affected families, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The President also reassured residents of Borno State of the federal government’s commitment to restoring peace and strengthening security in the region. He emphasized that the relocation of security chiefs is aimed at coordinating a more decisive and immediate response to the situation on ground.

Maiduguri, the epicenter of insurgency in Nigeria’s North-East, has witnessed renewed security concerns in recent times, raising fears among residents.

Security agencies are expected to intensify operations as part of efforts to prevent further attacks and restore normalcy.
