Court Continues Trial Of Man Accused Of Killing Neighbour Over Morning Prayer Dispute
The Kano State High Court No. 1, sitting at the Audu Bako Secretariat has continued the murder trial of Ayuba Sani, who is accused of killing one Ibrahim Dan Larai in Tumfafi town, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
The incident, which occurred last year, followed an alleged disagreement between the two men.
Prosecutors claim that Sani stabbed Dan Larai in the neck with a knife after repeated quarrels over the deceased waking him up for early morning prayers despite warnings to stop.

During the resumed hearing, the state prosecutor, Barrister Amina Uba, presented two additional witnesses, ASP Cindu Cuwa and Inspector Buhari, who both testified regarding their investigative roles in the case.
The court discharged the witnesses after their testimonies, bringing the total number of prosecution witnesses to three so far.
Presiding Judge, Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, subsequently adjourned the matter to January 29, 2026, for the defendant to open his defence. Sani has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
