Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna, has said that he has never been interested in serving in a cabinet under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

On Thursday morning, he posted this on his official X page.

In response to Daniel Bwala, the President’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, El-Rufai said that he had made it plain to the President that he had no interest in any role.

Lagos Assembly Crisis: GAC Members Divided Over Obasa’s Impeachment

In his first response to El-Rufai’s criticism of the APC, Bwala said, “My Senior brother, would you have held and stated the same view if you were in the administration and cabinet? There are plenty such instances throughout history. It is a government that you helped build and that you now want to overthrow. A Ji soron Allah mana, Haba Mallam.

In response, El-Rufai said, “Good morning, @BwalaDaniel. 22 years ago, I served as cabinet minister, and I made it plain to Asiwaju that I had no interest in holding any role in his future administration. Perhaps your moral flexibility is shown by the pitiful way that all of you modern-day converts to the Tinubu administration make a big deal out of something that I never desired in the first place.

“I would have discussed the tragedy within the party I founded and the resulting government in private sessions with those involved, and if no corrective action is taken, I would have gone public if I had stayed in the Tinubu administration.” Check out my 1998 public service record.

Wendell Simlin and that Kaduna impostor, who our voters retired in 2019, are political mercenaries who get enormous monthly stipends from the security vote to be the first to jump on X and other platforms to defend everything the Asiwaju government does or does not do, no matter how indefensible it may be. That is the only reason I am responding to you; I still believe you are a decent person who might need a job.

Enjoy your role as a special advisor, my brother, but keep in mind that loyalty to God and one’s nation comes before loyalty to anyone or anything. – @elrufai
