The Ogun State Government has launched additional toll-free lines to enhance access to support services for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.
Addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, the Commissioner for Women affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, explained that the new lines would ensure improved response time and provision of immediate medical, psychosocial, and legal assistance to victims through the Sexual Assault Referral Centres, SARC.
She stressed that the new toll-lines were part of the ongoing commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of all residents, affirming that the state government remained resolute in enforcing strict penalties for offenders and providing support systems for survivors.
Adeleye enjoined individuals, civil organizations, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to actively participate in the fight against sexual violence and report abuse cases promptly.
