Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has firmly dismissed claims of an alleged impeachment plan targeting his deputy, Olayide Adelami, describing the reports as baseless political speculation.

The rumours had suggested that internal political tensions, particularly within Owo Local Government Area, were fueling a power struggle that could culminate in Adelami’s removal.

Some reports also linked the alleged plot to disagreements involving the Commissioner for Finance, Isaacs Omowunmi, believed to be a close ally of the governor.

However, Aiyedatiwa publicly rejected these claims during the inauguration of the Ayegunle-Iwaro Oka road in Akoko South-West Local Government Area on Friday.

Addressing attendees, the governor expressed appreciation for his deputy’s loyalty and service.

He acknowledged Adelami’s support, noting that the deputy had represented him effectively during his recent official trip.

According to Aiyedatiwa, suggestions of discord between him and Adelami are unfounded and deliberately orchestrated by political opponents.
