Nigerian comedian and online content creator Samuel Perry, widely recognized by his stage name Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been hospitalized after sustaining a gunshot injury during a comedy skit production.

The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State. According to sources familiar with the situation, the entertainer was filming a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when the shooting took place.

While the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, a police source who spoke anonymously said members of the production crew acted quickly to ensure the actor received medical attention.

Following the incident, the injured comedian was rushed to Blooming Care Hospital, located in the Alakuko area of Lagos State for immediate medical treatment.

Medical personnel at the facility reportedly administered first aid upon his arrival before further steps were taken to stabilize his condition.

After receiving initial treatment, the entertainer was later transferred to Duchess International Hospital in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja.

Sources close to the situation indicated that he is currently recuperating at the hospital following the injury. Although the full extent of his condition has not been publicly disclosed, reports suggest that the gunshot wound affected his thigh.

The development prompted a response from the Lagos State Police Command after the hospital notified authorities about a gunshot victim being treated at the facility.

Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi confirmed that officers were immediately dispatched to the hospital to investigate the report.

According to Adebisi, detectives and a patrol team visited the medical centre shortly after receiving the alert and confirmed that the victim was the well-known comedian.

“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she explained.

The statement highlighted that while the injured individual was treated in Lagos, the reported shooting occurred in Ogun State, which falls outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos command.

Authorities from the Ogun State Police Command were also contacted for clarification regarding the alleged incident.

However, the spokesperson for the command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the matter had not been officially reported to police authorities in the state.

“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” he said.

Broda Shaggi is one of Nigeria’s most popular digital entertainers, known for his humorous skits that have attracted millions of followers across social media platforms. His unique blend of street-style comedy and acting has earned him a large fan base both within Nigeria and internationally.
