In a statement released by party officials, the ADC leadership accused the lawmaker of actions considered detrimental to the party’s unity and interests. The party said the decision followed internal complaints and investigations into her conduct.

According to the statement, Kingibe’s suspension takes immediate effect and she is barred from participating in all party activities pending further review of the allegations against her. The party also stated that the disciplinary measure is part of efforts to maintain discipline and uphold the constitution of the ADC.
However, as of the time of the announcement, Senator Kingibe has not publicly responded to the suspension. She was elected to the Senate in the 2023 general elections, where she defeated candidates from major parties to become the first female senator representing the FCT.
