Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has alleged that his administration has not received any financial support from the federal government because he is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during an interview with DW Hausa, Lawal claimed that while some states have reportedly received over ₦500 billion in federal support, Zamfara has not benefited from any such intervention.

The governor said despite the situation, his administration has refrained from taking loans, opting instead to manage available resources prudently. According to him, the state government is utilising its internally available funds to meet obligations, including the payment of workers’ salaries.

Lawal added that his government remains focused on executing developmental projects across the state, insisting that it will continue to prioritise fiscal discipline and accountability.
