Engr. Muhammad Diggol, the Kano State Commissioner for Transportation, has submitted his letter of resignation With immediate effect. Diggol was relocated to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation during a recent cabinet upheaval, which coincided with his departure. Diggol’s resignation was “purely political,” according to people close to the commissioner. Insiders speculate that he was dissatisfied with his reassignment from the Transportation Ministry, which is seen as a more prestigious and prominent position, even though he did not give a reason for his resignation.

Diggol was a member of a group that had criticized Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso for allegedly having influence over Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s government, according to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity. According to the source, Diggol resigned in order to preserve harmony and safeguard his honor and dignity because there were rumors that he might be fired. Diggol’s resignation has been accepted by Governor Yusuf, the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said in a statement on Sunday.

At the start of Governor Yusuf’s term in 2023, Diggol was first named Commissioner for Transportation. He subsequently served until his resignation in the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
