The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged members of the camp loyal to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to “leave their ego aside” and work towards unity in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following a recent Appeal Court verdict on the party’s leadership dispute.
Wike made the call while reacting to the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which addressed the lingering crisis within the opposition party over its leadership structure and internal disagreements among key stakeholders.

According to the former Rivers State governor, the ruling should serve as an opportunity for party members to set aside personal interests and rebuild the PDP.
He stressed that continued infighting would only weaken the party and reduce its ability to function effectively as a strong political opposition in Nigeria.
Wike specifically appealed to those aligned with Governor Makinde to drop personal pride and embrace reconciliation, noting that the survival and growth of the party should take priority over individual ambitions.
The FCT minister added that internal discipline and respect for court decisions are necessary if the PDP hopes to overcome its current challenges and regain political strength.
The dispute within the PDP has created divisions among several influential party leaders, with different factions backing opposing positions on the party’s direction and leadership decisions.
Political analysts say the Appeal Court’s ruling could become a turning point in resolving the crisis, depending on how party stakeholders respond in the coming weeks.
The development comes as the PDP continues efforts to reorganize and strengthen its structure ahead of future elections in Nigeria.
