The Federal Government has reopened Nigeria’s borders with neighbouring Benin Republic and Niger Republic through Kebbi State, a move aimed at strengthening cross-border trade, improving regional integration, and enhancing security collaboration among the three countries.

The reopening is expected to restore economic activities along key border communities that rely heavily on transnational commerce, following months of restrictions that disrupted the movement of goods and people. Local traders, transporters, and residents had earlier raised concerns over the economic impact of the closures on livelihoods.
