According to the Ogun State government, a group of students protesting in Abeokuta attacked the motorcade of Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the state's deputy governor. The deputy governor was allegedly attacked by students in Ogun State's Oke-Ilewo Area while she was en route to an official assignment in honor of Armed Forces Remembrance Day in 2025.
According to the Ogun State government, a group of students protesting in Abeokuta attacked the motorcade of Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the state’s deputy governor.
The deputy governor was allegedly attacked by students in Ogun State’s Oke-Ilewo Area while she was en route to an official assignment in honor of Armed Forces Remembrance Day in 2025.
Mr. Kayode Akinmade, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, clarified in a statement that the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta students who were demonstrating were carrying sticks and other hazardous weapons.
The statement further stated that in order to ensure public safety and uphold citizens’ rights, the Deputy Governor’s convoy unexpectedly detoured to her lodge to permit the students who were protesting to pass quietly.
