From the N427,746,925,170 budget for 2025, the Osun State Government has set aside N166,465,076,630 to support the state’s educational and infrastructure sectors. Professor Ademola Adeleke, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget, and Development, made this announcement during Thursday’s 2025 budget review at the Finance Building in Abere.
Adeleke stated that the budget will be financed by a number of sources, including Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
He stated, “The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) is expected to provide N251,670,167,990.00 of this total, which includes statutory allocation, value-added tax, exchange-rate gain, ecological fund, electronic money transfer levy, and other FAAC revenue.”
In addition to N30,001,125,120.00 being the estimated opening balance, N109,870,932,830.00 is anticipated from internally generated revenue (IGR) and N36,204,699,230.00 from other capital receptacles.
These all add up to the overall amount of money that the state is anticipated to receive as revenue. Similarly, the capital and recurring expenses were N191,549,142,270.00 and N236,197,782,900.00, respectively, representing a 55 percent to 45 percent ratio.
Adeleke showed the budget breakdown, revealing that N59,162,169,140 goes to governance, N46,981,263,870 goes to human capital, N31,243,696,200 goes to the health sector, N7,162,112,850 goes to agriculture, N6,255,970,530 goes to culture and tourism, and so on.
