Nigeria’s democratic process takes center stage this weekend as Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for calm, discipline, and responsible participation ahead of the scheduled elections in key regions of the country.

In a statement released Friday through his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged voters, political actors, and security agencies to maintain peace during Saturday’s polls in the Federal Capital Territory, as well as in Kano and Rivers states.

The elections, organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, will cover the six area councils of the FCT and include bye-elections in Ahoada East II and Khana II constituencies in Rivers State, alongside Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies in Kano State.

The President emphasized that democracy flourishes best in an environment defined by calmness, tolerance, and mutual respect among citizens.
