Two youths have been taken into custody by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly making fictitious bank transfers to buy clothing valued at 220,000 naira from Christopher Chukwuma of the Ijebu North Local Government Area. After the victim recognized and alerted authorities, the perpetrators, Opeyemi Ibrahim and Dimeji Bakare, were taken into custody.

In a statement released in Abeokuta, Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola verified the offenders’ detention.

She pointed out that one of the accused had already perpetrated a similar crime in 2023 by making fictitious transfers to buy generators worth 140 thousand naira.
