In a separate development thousands of miles away, panic briefly gripped workers and residents near the Bayelsa State Secretariat Complex in Yenagoa after a suspected Improvised Explosive Device detonated early Tuesday morning.

The explosion reportedly occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m., disrupting official activities at the complex. Security operatives quickly mobilized to secure the perimeter and assess potential risks.

In a statement made available to journalists, the Bayelsa State Police Command confirmed the incident. Commissioner of Police CP Iyamah disclosed that he personally led the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, Special Drone Unit, and other tactical teams to the site.

Authorities stated that no lives were lost and no property was damaged in the explosion. The rapid containment by specialized units ensured that the situation did not escalate further.
