According to the NEWSWORLD, the personnel and certificate of honor were presented at the Oyo State Government House in the capital city of Ibadan.
Remember how Makinde declared Owoade the Alaafin-designate on Friday in spite of opposition from a five-member Oyomesi (kingmakers) faction? For Alaafin, the faction’s members insisted that Lukman Gbadegesin be chosen.
Gbadegesin offered N15 million to each of the five kingmakers during the Alaafin selection process, according to the other two Oyomesi members who testified before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in July 2024. As he presented the monarch with the tools of office, Makinde made it clear that the Alaafin stool would not be sold while he was in charge.
The governor reaffirmed that individuals who attempted to undermine the state’s established institutions would face legal action.
“The administration is not going to disappoint. We will bring charges against them. They will still face prosecution for the money they took in. “Unless they go to Kabiyesi and apologize, I will also forgive them if he does,” he stated.
