1,000 Kwara Traders Get Remi Tinubu’s N50m Grant

Through the Renewed Hope Initiative, President Oluremi Tinubu’s wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has given 1,000 women petty merchants in Kwara State N50,000 grants apiece. Through the Renewed Hope Initiative, President Oluremi Tinubu’s wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has given 1,000 women petty merchants in Kwara State N50,000 grants apiece. Mrs. Tinubu stated that the N50 million was intended to help women re-capitalize their current enterprises during her remarks at the opening of the National Information Technology Development Agency/RHI community ICT center in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, on Tuesday. Among the other projects that Senator Tinubu commissioned on Tuesday was the recently renovated Civil Service Clinic, which bears the name of Olufolake Abdulrazaq, the wife of the governor of Kwara. “On December 17, 2024, 250 senior individuals received grants of N200,000 apiece under the RHI Social Investment Program to commemorate the Yuletide season,” Tinubu continued.

The president’s wife added that RHI worked with the Universal Basic Education Commission to construct an Alternative High School for Girls in Kwara State as part of its educational program. Additionally, women and young farmers would benefit from the N68.9 million Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security Support grant under our RHI Agriculture Program.

“Kwara State has been granted this grant through the First Lady and RHI State Coordinator, who will oversee the execution of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Young Farmers Club, Every Home a Garden, Women Agricultural Support Program, and Youth Agricultural Support Program,” he stated. In addition, Olufolake Abdulrazaq, the wife of the governor of Kwara state, stated that the ICT program would prepare women and young people for the opportunities that abound in the global digital realm in addition to providing them with in-demand digital skills.

“Today’s commissioning speaks to the many engagements and partnerships of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria towards ensuring that Nigerians are adequately supported in the pursuit of their goals and improving livelihoods of the most indigent to complement the efforts of Mr President, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government in this regard.

“While this milestone will continue to up the status of women, youths and other users of the facility, it is also creating pathways into making Nigeria a digitally empowered Nation as well as fostering a technology-enabled equitable future for all Nigerians,” Abdulrazaq said.

Abdulrazaq enjoined the host school, College of Education, Ilorin, and users alike to ensure the protection and security of the edifice and to take full advantage of the services the facility provides to develop themselves and promote positive causes.
