The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased its gantry price for Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, by ₦100 per litre, reversing part of a price reduction announced three days earlier.

According to a market survey reported by Daily Post on Saturday, the refinery raised its diesel price from ₦1,700 to ₦1,800 per litre. The latest adjustment followed a reduction from ₦1,780 to ₦1,700 per litre earlier in the week.

Despite the increase, Dangote Refinery’s gantry price remained below those of several depot operators. Pivot, African Terminal, Integrated and other depots were reportedly selling diesel at approximately ₦1,905 per litre on Saturday, leaving the refinery’s price ₦105 lower.

At the retail end, diesel was selling for between ₦1,960 and ₦1,980 per litre in Abuja, according to the report. The latest gantry adjustment could add to operating costs for businesses and transport operators if it is passed on to end users.

The price movement comes amid elevated international crude oil prices. The report put Brent crude at about $104 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) at approximately $91 per barrel at the time of filing. However, the extent to which global crude prices influenced the refinery’s latest adjustment was not independently established in the supplied report.
