The Federal Government has launched a digital investment platform, known as D30 or Destination 2030, to help investors identify business opportunities in Nigeria’s tourism and creative industries, as it targets a $100 billion contribution to the economy and more than three million jobs by 2030. The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, unveiled the platform on Tuesday in Abuja, describing it as a major step towards unlocking the economic potential of Nigeria’s cultural and creative assets.

She said the lack of reliable, accessible data had made it difficult for investors to assess opportunities, identify infrastructure gaps and make informed decisions about projects in the sectors.

Musawa explained that D30 would bring together information on tourism destinations, cultural heritage, creative professionals, infrastructure and government interventions to guide investment decisions. She said the platform was designed to connect tourism and creative industries, including music, film, fashion, visual arts and cultural festivals, with opportunities for business expansion and job creation.

According to her, the initiative aligns with the ministry’s plan to generate more than three million jobs and contribute $100 billion to Nigeria’s gross domestic product by 2030. However, she stressed that achieving these targets would require sustained investment, reliable data, improved infrastructure and stronger collaboration among public and private-sector stakeholders.

Cavista Holdings, through its subsidiary Cavista Technologies, provided private funding and technical support for the platform in partnership with the ministry. The company’s Executive Director and Vice President of Government and External Affairs, Olumide Olayomi, said the platform could help investors assess opportunities, identify infrastructure needs and make better business decisions.

He added that its success would depend on how effectively stakeholders use the information to attract investment and expand enterprises. Government agencies, state governments, industry associations, businesses and research institutions are expected to contribute and regularly update relevant data to keep the platform reliable. While D30 is intended to improve investment planning, its actual impact will depend on data quality, stakeholder participation and the conversion of identified opportunities into viable projects and jobs.
