Osun APC Reps Candidate Urges Party Leaders To Translate President’s Position Into Action

The APC House of Representatives candidate for Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency in Osun State, Hon. Taiwo Oluga, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for calling for support for female members of the party contesting in the forthcoming general elections.

Oluga gave the commendation following the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), where President Tinubu reportedly emphasised the need to support women of the party seeking elective offices.

In a statement reacting to the President’s remarks, Oluga described the position as an important recognition of women’s capacity, competence and rightful place in Nigeria’s political leadership.

She said the President’s declaration should serve as a call to action for the APC leadership and stakeholders to provide practical support for female candidates who have demonstrated commitment, loyalty and dedication to the party.

“As a woman in politics and a proud member of our great party, I deeply appreciate this recognition,” she said.

The APC candidate, who is seeking to represent Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said women in the party were prepared to take on greater responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to its growth and the development of the country.

According to her, supporting women in politics would strengthen the party’s future and expand opportunities for inclusive leadership and national development.

Oluga stressed that the President’s position should translate into tangible support for female candidates across the country, particularly those seeking elective offices in the forthcoming elections.

She called on party leaders and stakeholders to complement the President’s declaration with deliberate efforts to ensure that women candidates receive the necessary backing to compete for elective positions.

“The time to support APC women is now. The time to turn words into action is now,” she declared.

She further expressed hope that the President’s remarks would encourage greater participation of women in the party’s political and leadership structures.

Oluga concluded by expressing appreciation to President Tinubu and offering prayers for the APC and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Her statement adds to the ongoing discussion about women’s representation in Nigerian politics and the role of political parties in creating opportunities for female aspirants and candidates ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
