INEC’s disclosure also highlights the significance of middle-aged voters in determining electoral outcomes, given their numerical strength on the current register.
The commission conducted the CVR exercise in three phases during the period, allowing eligible Nigerians who had not previously registered to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), while registered voters were also given opportunities to transfer their registration or update their details.
The updated register is expected to form the basis for planning and preparations for the 2027 elections, with INEC continuing efforts to ensure that eligible citizens are captured ahead of the polls.
