The APC candidate expressed concern over reports of attacks on members and supporters of his party, insisting that no political ambition should lead to bloodshed.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and loved ones. I pray that God grants speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries and comfort to all who have been affected by these unfortunate incidents,” he stated.
AMBO reaffirmed his commitment to democratic principles, stressing that democracy should remain a contest of ideas and service rather than violence and intimidation.
“There is no political office, including the office of Governor, that is worth the blood of any human being. No ambition is greater than the value of human life, and no electoral victory can justify violence against fellow citizens,” he said.
Oyebamiji alleged that APC supporters were attacked in several locations across the state, including Owode-Ede, Ifeland, and Osogbo.
According to him, buses belonging to his campaign team were vandalized in Owode-Ede, while participants at a peaceful Walk-to-Live rally in Ifeland were allegedly attacked by hoodlums said to be linked to the ruling government.
He further claimed that APC members in Osogbo were physically assaulted, adding that there were reports of gunshots during the attacks, although fatalities had not been independently confirmed.
The APC governorship candidate condemned all forms of political violence regardless of political affiliation, warning that intimidation and lawlessness have no place in a democratic society.
“The growing atmosphere of intimidation, violence, and political intolerance should concern every lover of democracy and every stakeholder in the future of Osun State,” he stated.
AMBO also criticized the current security situation in the state, saying many residents now feel unsafe and vulnerable.
He pledged that if elected governor, his administration would prioritize the protection of lives and property while maintaining zero tolerance for criminality.
“We shall not harbour criminals, encourage lawlessness, or look the other way while criminal elements operate under political protection as we currently have it in the state. The rule of law shall prevail, and all citizens shall be equal before the law,” Oyebamiji declared.
The APC candidate appealed to residents and party supporters to remain peaceful and avoid retaliation despite provocations.
He expressed optimism that a new administration would emerge after the November 27 governorship election, promising a government focused on security, welfare, prosperity, and peace.
“Beginning from November 27, by the grace of God and with the support of the people, a truly progressive government will be ushered in—one that will place the welfare, security, prosperity, and peace of Osun people above every other consideration,” he added.
