Former Osun State governor and former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola has been characterized as a powerful figure in Osun politics by Oluwole Oke, the member of the House of Representatives who represents the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency. Despite Aregbesola’s recent departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oke, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated on Sunday that he is still a significant political force in the state.

However, the legislator suggested that the former governor make amends with President Bola Tinubu, stating that he would bow down and implore his principal if he were in Aregbesola’s shoes.
Omoluabi Progressives, Aregbesola’s political party in Osun State, has already announced its departure from the APC due to an unbridgeable divide with the party’s mainstream leadership, according to a report by NEWSWORLD.

The former minister has become estranged from the state’s ruling party as a result of the rivalry, which allegedly began under Aregbesola’s successor, Adegboyega Oyetola. There have been hints that Aregbesola’s relationship with the APC leadership had deteriorated as a result of his disagreements with Tinubu on unspecified political issues. Regarding the current political climate in Osun, Oke stated that the PDP needs to move quickly to take advantage of the APC problem and urged his party to “pay the necessary dowry” in order to win Aregbesola over.
Former Osun State Governor and Interior Minister Egbon Rauf ‘Soji Aregbesola is a mystery, a grassroots organizer, a singer, and a dancer. In all honesty, he is a BRIDE and a factor in Osun politics,” he stated in a Facebook post. He went on to say that he would have made sure Aregbesola and Oyetola made amends if he had been a member of the APC.

“I will make sure I make amends between Asiwaju Gboyega Oyetola and Ogbeni, assuming I am an APC member in Osun State. “Ija o dola,” he said, meaning “a conflict does not last forever.” Aregbesola still has a lot of electoral clout in Osun, especially in the Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District, where he believes the former governor may still garner at least 20,000 votes, according to Oke.
