The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has approved Bolt to immediately resume operations at all FAAN-managed airports following an agreement reached between both parties on a new operational framework.

The development comes after widespread complaints from passengers over increased transportation costs and inconvenience caused by the temporary suspension of e-hailing services at the airports. FAAN apologized to affected travellers, saying it had listened to their concerns and made the necessary adjustments.

FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, said the authority introduced the Airport Car Hire Rank Management System (ACHRAMS) to address long-standing problems including touting, passenger solicitation, random pick-ups, unregulated operations and safety concerns. He clarified that ACHRAMS is not an e-hailing platform and was never intended to compete with Bolt, Uber or other mobility companies.

“FAAN and Bolt have reached an agreeable operational framework and Bolt is cleared to commence its services at FAAN-managed airports immediately,” the authority said.

FAAN added that discussions were ongoing with other e-hailing operators, expressing confidence that similar agreements would soon be reached. The authority assured passengers that they remained free to choose any authorized transportation service while FAAN continues to prioritize safety, security, convenience and passenger experience.
