The chairmen had requested September 22, 2026, as the date for their appearance before the committee but failed to attend the proceedings or send representatives to appear on their behalf.

Following their absence, the committee has issued a seven-day final summons to the Directors of Personnel Management and Finance, as well as the Heads of Audit of the six FCT Area Councils.

The officials have been directed to appear before the committee on October 14, 2026, to provide explanations regarding the financial matters under investigation.

The committee warned that failure to comply with the summons could attract sanctions in accordance with the relevant public service rules.

The latest development comes amid the National Assembly’s ongoing scrutiny of financial management and alleged audit infractions across government institutions.
