The campaign council comprises six Deputy Directors-General and 30 Directors assigned to different responsibilities. Former ThisDay publisher Dele Momodu was named Director of Media and Communications, while former Senator Dino Melaye will oversee Contact and Mobilisation.
The statement also named Mohammed Hayatudeen as Chairman of the Policy Team, with Professor Mohammed Sagagi, Professor Kingsley Moghalu and others expected to contribute to policy development. Former INEC Chairman John Oyegun will chair the Campaign Advisory Board.
Shaibu said the campaign structure would focus on issues including the cost of living, unemployment, insecurity and declining purchasing power. He said the council was designed to coordinate Atiku’s campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The development comes as political parties and presidential aspirants begin preparations for the 2027 general election, with economic conditions, security and living costs expected to feature prominently in campaign discussions.
