I Inherited ₦8.9 Billion Debt As APC Chairman – Ganduje

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), revealed that when he took office, he inherited a debt of ₦8,987,874,663.
According to news sources, Ganduje revealed the information on Wednesday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

As legal responsibilities connected to costs expended during pre-election legal battles, election cases, and appeals for parliamentary, gubernatorial, and presidential elections, the APC Chairman defined the inherited debts.

“The current NWC inherited debts and legal liabilities from various legal engagements totaling N8,987,874,663,” he said.

Ganduje informed the NEC members that through communication and alternative dispute settlement procedures, National Legal Adviser Prof. Abdul Kareem Kana (SAN) has been attempting to lessen the debt load.

Additionally, I urged the NEC to step in and help alleviate the debt load.

“We continue to strongly urge the National Executive Committee to take appropriate action,” he begged.

State governors, members of the NWC, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Vice President Kashim Shettima, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other party leaders attended the APC NEC meeting.

In the meantime, it was previously reported that Ganduje credited the party’s recent electoral success to the particular focus placed on domesticating campaigns.

Speaking Tuesday at the APC Caucus Meeting at the State House in Abuja, Ganduje commended the role played by party leaders and all other stakeholders in guaranteeing the APC’s victory over the previous 15 months.

The former governor of Kano State remembered that the APC had won the governorships in Imo, Kogi, Edo, and Ondo States during the period in question.
