The spokesperson for the Tony Okocha-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Chibuike Ikenga, has accused former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi of secretly working with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to undermine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Ikenga claims that Amaechi has been holding late-night meetings with opposition leaders, including Atiku, in an attempt to plot Tinubu’s ouster.
He claimed that Amaechi’s political ploys are not in the best interests of the party or the country and called the activities a betrayal of the APC and its leadership. He is part of the group that is collaborating with Atiku to overthrow the president. We are from Rivers. We are aware of everything. We are aware of ourselves.
“Rotimi enters River State covertly, holds meetings at night, and we catch glimpses of such sessions; make sure all of his fans and associates are with Sim Fubara at all times.”He told the NEWSWORLD, “Emeka Beke is an ally of Rotimi Amaechi and is alleged to be a functioning chairman of the party, which does not exist.”
The chieftain further claimed that Amaechi is using his connections both inside and outside the APC to incite unrest and maybe plant seeds of dissension inside the ruling party. The allegations coincide with persistent rumors of internal conflict within the APC, with important leaders allegedly disagreeing on nominations and policy direction.
