Political commentator and public affairs analyst, Charles Omole, has alleged that key figures including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and Seyi Tinubu are part of what he described as powerful “cabals” influencing decisions within President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Tinubu Insists State Police, LG Autonomy Must Work, Seeks Governors’ Support

Omole made the claim during a recent public commentary, where he argued that governance under the current administration is being shaped by a small circle of influential individuals rather than broad-based institutional processes. According to him, the alleged cabals wield significant control over policy direction, appointments, and access to presidential power.

He claimed that the growing influence of unelected actors around the President raises concerns about transparency, accountability, and internal democracy within the government. Omole further warned that such concentration of power could alienate party stakeholders and undermine public confidence in the administration.

The Presidency has not officially responded to Omole’s remarks as of the time of filing this report. Allies of those mentioned have, however, previously dismissed similar claims, insisting that President Tinubu runs an inclusive government and makes final decisions based on national interest.

The allegation adds to ongoing public debates about power dynamics within the Tinubu administration, as Nigerians continue to scrutinize the roles played by top officials and close associates of the President in shaping government policies.
