The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the governors of Anambra and Osun states, Chukwuma Soludo and Ademola Adeleke, attended the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on Wednesday. The three politicians, who belong to different political parties, were appointed as campaign coordinators for the re-election campaign of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Under the arrangement announced by the APC, Wike will coordinate campaign activities in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, while Soludo and Adeleke will oversee the campaign in Anambra and Osun states, respectively.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the State Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, said the party had an extensive nationwide structure, with more than 261,000 executives from the national to ward levels. He also claimed that the APC had 31 governors, alongside two allied governors from the South-East and South-West who belong to the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the Accord Party.

President Tinubu attended the inauguration alongside Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, members of the National Assembly, governors and other political leaders. Yilwatda praised the Tinubu administration, describing its policies and projects as significant achievements during its first three years in office.

The inclusion of Wike, Soludo and Adeleke in the campaign structure highlights the APC’s effort to build support beyond its formal membership ahead of the 2027 election.
