Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commissioned the Lameco Flyover Bridge in Osogbo, describing the project as a landmark achievement and the beginning of the unveiling of several mega infrastructure projects executed by his administration across the state.

‎Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke said the flyover represented his administration’s commitment to rebuilding Osun through strategic investments in infrastructure, including roads, bridges, healthcare, education and water supply.

‎The Governor described the occasion as a historic day for Osogbo and Osun State, expressing gratitude to residents for their patience during the construction period and commending engineers, contractors and workers for delivering the project on schedule.

‎”This project is not isolated. Today marks the commencement of the unveiling for public use of several mega projects initiated by our government,” Adeleke said.

‎He stated that the projects were executed in line with due process and transparency, stressing that his administration had delivered quality infrastructure without jeopardising the future of coming generations.


‎According to the Governor, the successful completion of the Lameco Flyover Bridge demonstrates the capability of indigenous professionals to deliver world-class projects.

‎”The high quality of this flyover confirms the workability of our local content model. We have proven to the whole world that our local engineers can perform to world-class standards,” he said.

‎Adeleke disclosed that his administration had completed more than 27 kilometres of intra-city roads in Osogbo and over 300 kilometres of roads across Osun State.

‎He added that more than 10 mega projects had been completed and were ready for commissioning, noting that the government had ensured equitable distribution of infrastructure projects across major towns in the state.

‎The governor called on the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, community leaders and residents to protect the newly commissioned facility from vandalism and misuse.

‎He warned against street trading on the bridge and underpass and urged motorists and commuters to use the facility responsibly.

‎”There should be no street trading on the bridge or underpass. There should be no vandalisation of railings or lights. Let us own it, keep it clean and maintain it for the next generation,” he said.

‎Adeleke added that the flyover was constructed to enhance safety and ease traffic flow in the state capital.

‎He thereafter formally declared the Lameco Flyover Bridge commissioned and open for public use.
