Reps Summon Service Chiefs, Ribadu Over Worsening Insecurity

According to him, the event was organised not only to launch the canvassing team for Adeleke’s re-election campaign but also to demonstrate the support the governor enjoys among the people of Ijesaland.

Addressing the gathering, Olajengbesi expressed appreciation to the governor for attending the event and emphasized that residents of Ijesa North were firmly behind his administration.

“I want to thank you, Your Excellency, for honouring us with your presence. This event is put together to officially inaugurate the 10,000 canvassers we have assembled for your re-election but more importantly to show you that the people of Ijesaland love you dearly and are fully with you,” he said.

He further argued that Adeleke’s victory would mark a turning point for the constituency, which he claimed had suffered years of political marginalisation and underdevelopment.

“The people of Ijesa North are aware that my victory and your re-election as Governor of this state is the only way to liberate Ijesa North from darkness and from the hand of its oppressor and we are solidly behind you,” he added.

Adeleke Hails Supporters, Says Party Growing Stronger

Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Adeleke commended the large turnout of supporters, describing it as evidence of growing confidence in his administration and political platform.

The governor said the gathering reflected increasing support from the people of Ijesaland despite recent political defections in the state.

According to him, the turnout demonstrated that the party remained strong and united ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Adeleke also praised Olajengbesi for mobilising supporters across the zone and described him as a determined political figure capable of overcoming opposition challenges.

The governor alleged that opposition forces were becoming increasingly uneasy over the popularity of his administration and the widespread acceptance of his political agenda across Osun State.

He urged residents to maintain their support and ensure active participation in the electoral process when the governorship election is conducted.

“No amount of violence can change the love of the people for us. Let us come out on the day of election to vote massively. Our vote is our voice,” Adeleke said.

Also speaking at the event, Sunday Bisi expressed confidence that Governor Adeleke would receive overwhelming support from Ijesaland.

He predicted that the governor’s vote tally in the region could surpass what he would obtain in his hometown of Ede.

The event was attended by several political leaders and government officials, including Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly Adewale Egbedun, Chief of Staff Kazeem Akinleye, and other party stakeholders.

The inauguration marks another step in preparations for the 2026 Osun governorship election as political activities continue to gather momentum across the state.
