ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Campaign Council for the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, appointing Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma, as chairman of the campaign team.

The party, in a statement issued on Sunday by its National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, announced that Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas will serve as co-chairmen of the council. Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, was named deputy chairman, while Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin will serve as secretary.

According to the APC, the council comprises governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other party stakeholders tasked with driving the party’s campaign ahead of the governorship poll. The party also announced the establishment of specialised sub-committees covering media and publicity, security, finance, logistics, grassroots mobilisation, youth mobilisation, women mobilisation, election planning, monitoring and compliance, protocol, persons with disabilities, and secretariat functions.

The APC said the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be formally inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre, Abuja, at 12:00 noon, as the party intensifies preparations for the Osun governorship election.
