The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of 38-year-old Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi at the Kuje Correctional Centre over alleged conspiracy, forgery and impersonation linked to a purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Adeyemi was arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Mohammed Umar after several earlier attempts to bring him before the court were unsuccessful due to various reasons, including requests by his lawyers, his absence and the judge’s official engagements. He was brought into the courtroom at about 2:33pm by an officer of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre.

The police charged Adeyemi and two other defendants, identified as Femi and Anu, who are reportedly at large, in an eight-count charge. The prosecution alleged that the defendants conspired to forge several official documents purportedly used to establish and operate the PFIPC.

According to the police, the documents allegedly included a purported presidential appointment letter, State House letterheads, a conveyance approval for the commencement of the council’s activities, requests for approval of staff accounts and office accommodation, as well as letters seeking collaboration with a Federal Government ministry.

In another count, the prosecution accused Adeyemi of falsely presenting himself as the Director-General of the purported PFIPC, an allegation said to contravene Section 179 of the Penal Code.

Adeyemi pleaded not guilty to all eight counts and denied the allegations against him, including the claim that he presented himself as the PFIPC Director-General.

Following his plea, Justice Umar ordered that Adeyemi be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing and determination of his bail application.

The case was reportedly filed in November 2025 following Adeyemi’s arrest in October 2025 after a petition by the then Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila. The allegations remain before the court and have not been established as proven facts.
