The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has said Nigeria’s economy is now growing faster than its population for the first time in many years, describing the development as a significant milestone for the country’s economic recovery.
Sanusi made the remark while speaking on the state of the Nigerian economy, noting that stronger economic growth relative to population expansion is a positive indicator of improving national productivity and living standards.
“This is the first time in a long time that Nigeria’s economy is growing faster than the population,” the Emir stated.
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has consistently advocated economic reforms, arguing that sustained growth, fiscal discipline and structural reforms are essential to achieving long-term prosperity and improving the welfare of Nigerians.
