The Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Tuesday distributed free sachet water to motorists and commuters along the Ipetu-Ijesa highway as part of efforts to promote road safety and motorists’ welfare.
The exercise, which formed part of the Corps’ public enlightenment and humanitarian outreach, was aimed at reducing fatigue and dehydration among road users, especially amid the prevailing dry weather conditions.

Speaking during the exercise, the Sector Commander said the initiative was designed to encourage safe driving habits, reduce stress-induced accidents, and strengthen the relationship between the FRSC and members of the public. He noted that fatigue and dehydration often contribute to loss of concentration while driving, particularly on long-distance routes.
Motorists who benefited from the gesture commended the FRSC for the thoughtful intervention, describing it as timely and commendable. Some drivers also urged the Corps to sustain such welfare-oriented campaigns alongside its enforcement duties.
The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring safety on Osun roads and called on motorists to obey traffic rules, avoid speeding, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy at all times.
