The Osun State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has rejected the proposed use of uncustomised ballot papers and result sheets for Saturday’s governorship election, warning that such materials could undermine public confidence in the electoral process.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Chairman of the IPAC Caretaker Committee, Mr. Titus Odesola, said the council’s position followed the July 22, 2026, Federal High Court judgment involving the Social Democratic Party (SDP). He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fully comply with the court ruling by ensuring that all election materials deployed for the poll meet the required specifications.

Odesola stressed that customised ballot papers and result sheets were essential to guaranteeing the credibility, transparency and integrity of the election. He argued that the commission should not proceed with materials that fail to comply with the applicable electoral requirements.

“It is unacceptable for INEC to proceed with uncustomised ballot papers and result sheets, especially after a court ruling that has clear implications for the integrity of the election,” the statement read.

He further stated that INEC ought to have acted promptly after the court judgment by taking necessary steps to ensure all election materials conformed with the required standards ahead of the poll.

IPAC added that it would continue to monitor developments leading to the August 15 governorship election while advocating for a free, fair and transparent electoral process across Osun State.
