Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has rejected the public apology issued by her colleague, Eniola Badmus, describing it as a “fake apology” amid an ongoing dispute between the two actresses.

Bakare expressed her displeasure in an Instagram post on Tuesday, hours after Badmus apologised over her reaction during a recent interview hosted by social media personality Isbae U.

“Fake apology,” Bakare wrote in response to her colleague’s public statement.

The controversy began after a video from Badmus’ interview circulated on social media, showing the actress appearing to shrug and change her facial expression when the interviewer mentioned Bakare among his favourite actresses.

The gesture reportedly angered Bakare, who subsequently took to social media to criticise her colleague and accuse her of engaging in behaviour she believed could damage her public image.

In response to the backlash, Badmus acknowledged that her reaction during the interview might have appeared dismissive and offered an apology to Bakare.

The actress also expressed her preference for peace despite the differences between them, adding that people continue to learn and grow through life’s experiences.

Badmus suggested that maturity sometimes requires letting go of disagreements and moving forward rather than allowing conflicts to persist.

However, Bakare’s brief response indicates that the apology has not resolved the disagreement, leaving the public dispute between the two Nollywood stars unresolved.

The exchange has continued to attract attention on social media, where fans and entertainment observers have followed developments in the actresses’ relationship.
